All work and no play... doesn't make for a scrappy day.

Well its been a long long time since I blogged. I have been quite busy getting together a nonprofit organization, NWA Center for Autism. It's been a long year and frankly my body has had enough running. Im proud of the staff we have brought on board, the kiddos have all made great gains. Exciting to see these kids lives begin to change day by day.

I do hope to get back to scrapbooking, I guess digital scrapbooking may be a good way to enjoy the hobby with quick payoff.

Danger in the Kitchen

I was so happy to get my Country Cutter, it makes beautiful onion strings, potato chips, and all manner of sliced edibles. I followed the directions to oil all the parts to ensure things moved smoothly and for proper "seasoning" of the wood. What I didn't realize... uh oh, was that the very sharp blade which appears to be just another part to oil was the BLADE!!So while moving along oiling this, oiling that, and then oiling the..

OUCH, I sliced my thumb open. My little white fluffball of a dog turned her head looking at me while I screamed out to no one OHHHHHHHHHHHH. She could do nothing but look at me in that doggy way that says I wish I could get what you are saying to me. Anyway 1 trip to the ER, 6 stitches later, and a big embarrassing bandage on my thumb I have learned, well Im not entirely sure what I learned but my Mother in Laws advice is to stay out of the kitchen- it's a dangerous place! I wish I could take that advice perhaps Ill try to bargain for a pizza night tonight while my thumb mends. But I can still type!
